Bon Voyage to the Hustle

Some of you know this. I recently landed a full time job after 6 years as a freelancer. For those of you who do not know this, I started a job in November where I work as a marketing coordinator for a National association. We host the only trade show for the industry and for the first time in forever I love getting up in the morning to go to work.

This new-found career joy has lead me to the realization that being a hustling artist on the side is just not for me. The last 6 years have been wonderful in regards of friendships made and lessons learned but the grind, the hustle, the struggle. I’m saying bon voyage.

While you won’t catch me at artist markets or one off events anymore, you may still find me at a local cafe where a small collection could be on display. You may find me as a retailer at a locally owned business/franchise where a box of my art prints are available to purchase and lastly you can always find my art at Etsy. My shop is located here:

I will still work on a few commission projects each year, but I am limiting my workload and being more selective in the types of commission work I take on.

I have been doing a lot of “obligation juggling” the last few months and now that I have a career than I truly love, I don't feel the same urge to hustle so hard. I will forever be an artist but I want to enjoy the process and I feel that taking a break from art as a business and just enjoying art as a hobby is a healthy lifestyle shift for me for now.

If you would like to continue to support my creative shop, you can buy prints of my work here:
